Age Group U6
The U6 age group is for children who are 4 or 5 years old as of January 1st of the current year. Parents also have the option of placing their 4 year old child in the U4 age group.
U6 games are conducted across a rink-sized field at
Cambrian Community Field or
North Haven School Field.
Games are one hour and roughly broken into two even components: approximately 30 minute practice then 30 minute game. The practice session is conducted on 1/2 of the game field followed by the game on the full field.
Small portable nets are used. U6 games are generally 4 vs. 4 or 5 vs. 5 depending on the number of players per team.
The goal is to ensure that each player has fun and roughly equal playing time; translated into equal opportunity to touch the ball in a game setting and a minimum of time waiting on the sidelines. Time is stopped every 2-3 minutes for substitutions.
