Age Group U8
The U8 age group is for children who are 6 or 7 years old as of January 1st of the current year.
U8 games are played on the full sized rinks at
North Haven School field or Cambrian Heights Community Association field.
Games are generally 5 v. 5, depending on team sizes. The one hour time slots are typically broken into two components: approximately 15 minute practice then a 45 minute game. The practice session is conducted on 1/2 of the game field followed by the game on the full field.
The goal is to ensure that each player has fun and roughly equal playing time; translated into equal opportunity to touch the ball in a game setting and a minimum of time waiting on the sidelines. Time is to stopped every 4 - 5 minutes for substitutions.
